Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is available in the sponsored section
of most major search engines.
Most engines have an auction-based system for bidding and the most
competitive keywords can sometimes cost over a $1.00 per click. If
you don't know what you are doing, you could easily waste your time
and money. PPC advertising and management is best handled by professionals
- like A Change of Pace. We will install tracking
tools to measure your Return-On-Investment (ROI) and only use the
best keywords - resulting in profits for you. We offer setup, monthly
management, tracking and reporting services.
What is Pay Per Click Advertising?
Pay Per Click advertising is an incredibly targeted, highly-effective
way for small businesses like yourself to generate quality sales
traffic to your Web site.
Where can I see an example of Pay Per Click advertising?
As someone who surfs the Web, you have undoubtedly used a search
engine such as Google or Yahoo! While searching for a specific topic,
you’ve probably noticed the brief text advertisements labeled “Sponsored
Links” that appear along the top and right side of a search engine
results page. These ads are known in the online world as “Pay Per
Click” advertisements (because an advertiser only pays if a potential
customer clicks on the ad).
How do the search engines figure out which Pay Per Click ads to list?
Pay Per Click ads are displayed based on the terms that the user
is searching for (with), creating a great way for companies to target
customers that are searching for the products and services they provide.
Business owners like you bid a price on keywords that are relevant to
their business and essentially jockey to be listed higher in the “Sponsored
Links” listings. Sure, this is a boiled down version of the complex
world of Pay Per Click advertising. If it were that simple, we’d
just tell you to manage your Pay Per Click campaigns on your own.
How much do companies pay for these ads?
The great thing about Pay Per Click advertising is that advertisers
only pay when a user views and clicks on the ad. The price of the ad
depends on how competitive the keyword is – or, in other words,
how many companies are bidding on the keyword and the price those companies
are willing to pay for a click.

The pricing varies depending on the number of keywords and which search
engines you pick. There is an initial setup fee and a monthly fee
that starts 30 days from your sign-up date. Additional monthly
deposits will be required in each engine to cover your PPC charges.
You can set your own budget, but generally we recommend spending
a minimum of $500.00 a month. PPC minimum rates vary from engine
to engine - Overture starts at 10 cents per click, Google starts
at 5 cents per click, Looksmart starts at 15 cents per click and so on.
You will have to specify the maximum amount of overhead you are willing
to spend per keyword.
